Everyone knows culture is important but most don’t know how to change their culture. Edmonds creates a detailed road map to help any leader deliver an inspiring culture that generates organizational success.
~ Joel Anderson, CEO of Walmart.com
In your company, does interpersonal conflict seem inevitable? When you try to improve your culture, do you feel like you’re constantly pushing uphill, working against human nature?
You feel this way because you likely are working against human nature. But you’re not alone. Most executives struggle to understand how to get people working together well despite their differences. Humans are complicated and, in many critical ways, are inherently at odds with one another.
Sound familiar?
These issues cost you money. More importantly, they dampen the spirit of your workforce.
For nearly three decades, Chris has supported leaders like you to build cultures in which people work together fluidly and joyfully despite their differences. Chris helps executives get to the heart of teamwork through crafting Organizational Constitutions – a methodology proven to help people understand and leverage the servant purpose and core values they do share.
Teams need a foundation of values from which to operate. People crave belonging, connection, and the sense that they’re doing something more than just pushing out product.
When executives identify and tap into their people’s shared servant purpose and core values using Organizational Constitutions, they gain access to the deepest drivers of human behavior. They bring about cultural cohesion and liberate their people to become purposeful, positive, and productive corporate citizens.
The idea of developing an organizational constitution is brilliant. Who doesn’t want to work in an environment where the employees feel trusted, valued, and respected with a sense of purpose?
~ Hyrum Smith, Co-Founder of Franklin Covey
When you bring in Chris as a consultant, you will be supported to engage a proven three-step process:
Chris is an organizational behaviorist. His approach is behavioral, logical, and engineered. Your senior leaders’ first step with Chris will be to lay down the governing principals of your workplace, using an Organizational Constitution.
Your governing principals will begin with your servant purpose. What service does your organization provide? Who is the service for? Why do you provide it?
Next, you’ll define your shared values. Values are the core drivers of human behavior. They are the operating system that guides our every thought, decision, and action. Understanding the 4 to 5 core values everyone in your organization shares is critical to forging cultural cohesiveness and unleashing teamwork. Once leaders pinpoint your employee’s shared values, they’ll codify the behaviors that will bring those values to life on a day-to-day basis.
Your Organizational Constitution will also encompass your strategies, goals, and rules to embed accountability for excellent organizational citizenship. In the best workplaces, good citizenship is as important as meeting deadlines and exceeding quotas.
Once it’s complete, your Organizational Constitution will be publically signed by every employee, from the front line to the CEO.
A new standard is only valuable to your organization if you hardwire accountability to it at every level.
Chris will coach your senior leaders to model and champion the servant purpose, values, and valued behaviors contained in your Organizational Constitution. Through every interaction, your executives will set and hold your new standard of excellence and inclusion. Process will be built and embedded to equip and empower every employee at every level to be positive, purposeful, and productive workplace citizens, every day.
Improving your culture is not a “one and done” exercise. Humans are creatures of habit, especially during periods of change and stress.
Chris will support your executives to monitor the effects of your Organizational Constitution and take steps to continuously raise the bar for excellent citizenship. Through ongoing assessment protocols keyed to your Organizational Constitution, culture refinement will get embedded into the way work gets done in your workplace.
Chris Edmonds’ approach will boost your team’s spirit, trust, and performance.
